What are the requirements for admission?

  • Completion of designated prerequisite courses with no lower than a C, or a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, at an approved college or university
  • Completion of the Nurse's Entrance Test (NET) or Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test (HOBET)
  • Criminal background check
  • Substance abuse test
  • All applicants must attend an Open House event prior to the application deadline
When are the admission deadlines?

Check for admission deadlines for the program you're interested in on our Deadlines page.

How do you select applicants for admission?

Admission is competitive, based on space availability, and decided by a ranking score. We do not have a waiting list approach to admission. Ranking scores are determined by taking into consideration such items as NET/HOBET score and, GPA of prerequisite courses.

How can I better my chances to get into one of the programs?

  • Check to see that your application and transcripts are received at the Student Services Department no later than the admissions deadline.
  • Make sure we have your most current address and phone number
What if I have a criminal charge, or some personal issues in my background? Will that affect my acceptance to your programs?

When a student graduates from one of our programs, they must take a licensure/registry exam that is administered by the state or nation. To be eligible to take this exam, the student must be able to answer "no" to the questions on the reverse side of the Application for Admission form. If you must answer "yes" to any of these questions, you can call the Registry Board(s) and ask for a more thorough review of your personal situation. However, until this more thorough review is conducted, you would not be eligible for acceptance to any of our programs.

Do your programs offer a degree?

The Baptist Health System School of Health Professions grants a diploma upon graduation and qualifies graduates to sit for the licensing/registry exam. The Baptist School of Health Professions does not guarantee transfer of credit to other institutions. Any transfer of credit is solely at the discretion of the receiving institution. Students may check with the Registrar for information on any institutions with which the Baptist School of Health Professions has an articulation agreement.
